Dr Charbel Medawar Rhinoplasty FAQs
Which doctor does Rhinoplasty?
In Lebanon and the wider Middle East, rhinoplasty falls under the domain of Facial Plastic Surgeons and Otolaryngologists (ENTs) specializing in facial plastics. As a board-certified ENT in Lebanon with extensive training in facial plastic surgery, Dr Charbel Medawar performs rhinoplasty at Style Beauty Clinic. My expertise ensures I understand both the cosmetic and functional aspects of the nose, aiming for optimal results.

Which type of Rhinoplasty is best?
There’s no “one-size-fits-all” answer. The best type of Rhinoplasty depends on your unique anatomy, concerns, and desired outcome. I offer both open structure and endoscopic Rhinoplasty techniques, tailored to your specific needs. During your consultation, we’ll discuss the best approach to achieve your goals.

Will my Rhinoplasty results change with age?
Generally, the reshaped bone and cartilage remain stable. However, minor changes in the surrounding tissues can subtly affect the overall appearance.

Rhinoplasty recovery timeline:
- Blowing your nose: Avoid blowing for at least 7-10 days, ideally longer, to prevent dislodging stitches or causing bleeding. Your surgeon will provide specific instructions.
- Sleeping on your side: Wait at least 2 weeks to prevent swelling and pressure on the nose. Sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated using pillows.
- Wearing glasses: Wait 4-6 weeks for the bones to heal and prevent pressure on the nose bridge. Discuss alternative vision correction options with your surgeon and optician.
- Bleeding: Most bleeding subsides within 24-48 hours. Minor spotting is expected for a few days. Contact your surgeon if bleeding persists or is excessive.
- Worst day after rhinoplasty: Discomfort usually peaks around day 3-5 due to swelling. Painkillers and proper head elevation can help manage this.
- Snoring: Some improvement is possible if your snoring stems from a deviated septum, which can be addressed during rhinoplasty. However, it’s not a guaranteed cure for all snoring causes.
- Permanence: Results are generally permanent, but minor changes can occur with aging or external factors.
- Scars: Scars typically fade significantly and become virtually invisible over time, especially with the techniques I use.
- Breathing: Rhinoplasty can improve breathing if functional concerns like a deviated septum are addressed. I prioritize both cosmetic and functional aspects in every procedure.

Remember, communication is key. Don’t hesitate to ask your surgeon specific questions about your recovery timeline and what to expect.
The key to a successful and enduring rhinoplasty lies in finding a board-certified, experienced surgeon who understands your individual needs and goals.
